New Year Batik Sale
Happy New Year!Once again we managed to get all orders completed in time and even finished a few last minute requests. Now we move on to the routine orders accumulated over the past month or so. Dena’s sewing machine is in overdrive. Teresa and Faye keep the quilting machines humming. We have a beautiful blue custom double wedding ring in the hand frame, ready to move along down the hand quilting schedule when that is completed. Nearly all my hand stitchers are back for the season. Sad to report that Katie, a long time hand quilter died just before Christmas. She was not able to come to Florida this winter because of illness, then died unexpectedly on December 26.
Here is hoping everyone had a wonderful holiday break with family and friends. It is always too busy, too much food, plenty of hubbub and much noise when a bunch of grandkids are tearing around the house. It was good to be with everyone, and connect with some long ago folks, but it is equally as welcome to get back home in the routine of one’s cocoon! I came up north for the first time in many years...met snow and the cold, and ready to get back south.
Just before Christmas I snagged about 55 new bolts of Batik’s at a good price so decided to pass on the savings to you.
Stop in for a big Batik sale this week -

For those of you who do appliqué, landscape, photo, and bargello Quilts with s is a terrific opportunity to find what you need for the project, or build your stash for future projects.
This is a good time for shops to be building their “stash” from the fabric vendors. Right now all the warehouses are trying to move out 2019 goods and make room for 2020 fabrics. If you know where and how to look there are some great deals to be had...and we always pass along the savings to you. Watch for more really good sales coming up in the next few months.
Mark your calendar for the Palm Grove quilt show and sale, held the first week of February, Feb. 5-8. We will have an outside quilt show here on Alma Sue"s campus. If you have something to sell, might want to grab a space and take the opportunity to sell to the thousands of folks who come to the Palm Grove event. Have something to sell? We are renting booth spaces on our campus. The show and sale applies only to items made in the USA. Imported merchandise for resale is not acceptable.
Please wait to call the shop (941-330-0993) for details until next week after I am back in Florida. Booth space is $20 for the event (Feb. 5-8) +10% commission of sales up to $500. You are responsible for manning your own booth and selling your items. You can also choose to sell any items on consignment at the Palm Grove location. Consignment hours are Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 3 and 4 from 8 am - 5 pm. Drop off any items at the Palm Grove schoolhouse just north of the intersection of Beneva Road and Bahia Vista Street. For a commission fee of 25%, they will display and sell your items.
Looking forward to the new year and the new classes Faye is planning. MegaStar and One Block Wonder with panels will be repeated in February. Starting this month is an ongoing series of seasonal table runner classes. I believe the first one is for Valentine's day. Soon as we all get back from holiday travels we will set the dates and let you know.
