To give our hard working employees time to enjoy the holidays, travel, and spend time with family, we will be CLOSED Christmas week Dec. 25-28. (Wednesday - Saturday)  Open on Monday Dec. 23 for last minute pickups.  Closing early Christmas Eve by 12 noon or soon as all pickups done.

Week of New Year, we will be OPEN on Monday 10-5, closing early New Year's Eve, then reopen again on Thursday with normal schedule.

Yes we will get the list done, even though it keeps growing with last minute requests.  There will often be someone here either sewing, quilting or shipping because people buy online 24 hours a day!  So if you have a particular need or maybe forgot a pickup, just send Ella an email ( or text message and we will connect you with someone at the shop.  If lights are on and cars in the parking lot, someone is here.  The East door may or may not be locked.

Just in!  A new batch of 42 batik bolts.  The batik mania seems to have slowed a bit.  We still use batiks for applique and bargello piecing.  Many of the batiks are "blenders" instead of strong figural pieces.
New Year SALE on these and ANY batik in the store
January 2-4 Thursday to Saturday
Minimum cut = 1/2 yard
What else is new:  two boxes of Kaffe Fassett fabric and array of new solids from Free Spirit to match his prints, 2 boxes from Quilting Treasures

The Palm Grove Quilt show and sale is Wednesday-Saturday, February 5-8.  If you have something to sell, consignment days are Monday 8-5 and Tuesday 8-5.  They will display and sell your items.  Pick up a check and any unsold items on Saturday February 8.  Palm Grove takes a 25% commission from sales to support their mission projects.

For this year we plan to extend the show and sale to our campus.  Hoping to hang quilts on a clothesline and mimic the Sisters show in Oregon.  If you have something hand made to sell, grab a booth and plan to sell anytime that week.  Can take a booth for one day or for all days.  Booth fee is $8 a day, plus 10% commission for items sold, up to a maximum of $500 of your sales.  This will help pay for the advertising.  Some of you may have already received an email from Susan who coordinated selling space in the past.  To sign up for a space, send an email to me, at and let me know what days you need.
During the week of the Palm Grove show we will celebrate our 18th year in business.  Watch for special sales on lots of items; we have already planned a huge fabric sale and are bringing in over 1500 yards of promotional items and short bolt fabrics.  Short bolts are those at the end of the bolt wrapping stage when there is not enough fabric to wrap a complete 12 or 15 yard bolt.  The companies are beginning to offer these bolts to us at a good discount.  When I get a good deal I pass it along to you.  This is new first run fabric, the same as that shipping to your local quilt shop's shelf purchased at full price!  We can't pick and choose what is in the lot, however we can choose by designer or fabric line.

For Sale by Moe, our sewing machine technician:  One white featherweight Singer sewing machine and box of accessories.  The case is a little dinged on one side, however the machine is like new.  Comes with a one-year warranty.  If interested, check out the photo on facebook (FB:Alma Sue's Quilt Shop) or stop in at the shop and see it.

Ok, that's it for now, need to go and bind a couple more quilts for that customer who had 16 made for everyone in the family!
