Remember the "Dear Jane" craze?  Apparently the One Block Wonder (OBW) craze is now sweeping the quilt world.  They even have their own FB, followed by tens of thousands of quilters.  To get a glimpse of some of the creative pieces produced by OBW piecers, check out their FaceBook, "One block Wonder Quilt Forum."  Absolutely amazing how the hexagons are used as borders for panels, and in tandem with other quilt blocks and applique techniques.  If you have any idea of taking a OBW class, or have made one previously, browse through this FB and get some unique ideas as to what fabrics or panels to use and how to manipulate the hexagons.

We have another upcoming OBW class.  The next session runs on Thursday morning from 10-1.  November 29, December 6 and 13.  Suitable for the confident beginner.  Fee is $45 and includes book with basic technique and numerous ideas, class, and free open sewing sessions to complete the project as needed.  The items provided for class are packaged in the Alma Sue green bag.  This bag entitles you to a forever 10% discount when used to shop in the store.

Dena's Double Wedding Ring class is scheduled for Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 pm.  In this class you learn both the traditional arc and the more modern arc using one piece of fabric.  The arc with multiple pieces is a perfect way to use up your scraps and leftover fabrics or 2 1/2 inch strips from other projects.  The overall charm of a scrappy piece is achieved when not every arc is made from identical fabrics.
Strictly limited to 4 students.  Call 941-330-0993 for a seat.  Class always fills quickly.

Two new collections from Northcott.  Stonehenge Maplewood in red and Stonehenge Mighty Pines.  We are in the process of making kits with the collections.
Baby quilts are one of our mainstays.  Right now we are having trouble finding some cute panels and collections.  Just in is a small collection of elephants in pink and grey and blue.  All in flannel.  Another ABC panel and coordinates from Northcott.  This is also in flannel.

We continue to rearrange the floor to make more room for online sales, picking, packing, and shipping area.  It seems to be a forever process as our needs change so quickly.  Sidewalk sales will continue on the first saturday of each month from 10-3.  Next one is Saturday, December 1.  We continue to clear out discontinued items at yard sale prices on these days.  If you want to display/sell your wares and reserve a space on our covered sidewalk, contact the person in charge at bobandkarla@yahoo.com.  The local quilt guild will be displaying and selling tickets for their raffle quilt.  December 1 will be a good time to pick up some gifts and it is after the Black Friday craze.
