Craft Fair, White Elephants tomorrow
Craft Fair - White Elephant Sale
Saturday March 11
Gather up all those unneeded or unwanted items, grab a card table (or 2 or 3) and bring them to the sidewalk and parking lot at Alma Sue's tomorrow from 9 am - 4 pm. $8 a space. (No need to call and reserve a space) There is also a craft sale going on across the street at the Beneva Marketplace (corner of Bahia Vista and Beneva.) So between the two locations we have done a fair amount of advertising in the Tribune, Craig's List, etc. What we didn't know at the time this was scheduled is the art fair going on downtown this weekend. If you have done any de-cluttering or downsizing this spring, then you might find someone who can use what you no longer need. And if not, then there's always the Good Will donation center!
Some of the items going out our door are a small stand ($15), vacuum cleaner used several times, like new ($25), Montel Williams blender used once, fabric racks, and more still being discovered!
And don't forget next Friday, St. Patrick's Day sale. Wear green and buy anything in the store for 20% off! Quilts, notions, gadgets, fabric, FQ, gift items, books, patterns, irons, fleece, flannel, kits, Kaffe Fasset wall, solids, Florida beach fabrics, blenders, numbered pins, pin cushions, 505 spray, best press, etc. EVERYTHING even the SALE rack of $5 yd goods and $10 yd wide goods. I stocked up on plenty of colors for wide quilt backs, grey, orange, pink, blue, turquoise, purple, lavender, green, yellow, etc. Yes they will be an additional 20% off on top of the $10/yd sale price! Only happens once upon a time! NOT INCLUDED in this sale are the quilting services, LA quilting, repairs, hand quilting, binding, etc. If you should happen to not get the word and forget the green, we do have a limited number of green beads to hand out and hang around your neck so you can get the GREEN sale price.
Black and Whites coming on strong. We have a nice selection of black/white prints, black/white/red prints, as well as many shades of red and grey solids and our Amish ultra black all from Northcot with a higher thread count than most solids, and heat treated finish that makes your cottons feel like silk! Just in stock are Sweet Tea's new contemporary quilt patterns, several cute small stuffed animal patterns so little ones can hold something soft in their hands, zebra, giraffe, farm animals and the cat carried around by Tula Pink at QuiltCon 2017 in Savannah. Check it out. Also just in are Amy Butler "Splendor" precuts, charm, 10" layers and rolls and Tanya Whelen's romantic roses precuts. Contrary to the local Modern Quilt Guild's information, we do have many contemporary fabrics and patterns for your pleasure. Their website lists the preferred local fabric shops where you can purchase patterns and fabric, and no, we are not on the list! I am not sure what constitutes a "preferred" shop to buy product, but that's ok. We like to remain a hidden gem. ssh don't tell anyone.
And do consider joining the national modern guild if you are at all interested. All members have access to the resources online. Currently all the episodes of "Fresh" are streaming online and all national MQG members can access these.
Still have one space for Mondo Bag. Thursday open sew is fun; last week Martina and Ann made Mondo bags, Walter made pillow covers, Faye invented some new free motion stitching patterns and at 3:00 we all had a tea and crumpets break courtesy of Ann, with English clotted cream and lemon curd. Yum! We hope Ann comes again next week!
