Join Faye and make this Afternoon Delight quilt. Pattern shows instructions to make various sizes from a throw to a king size. We have used this pattern for 14 years; each group of fabrics turns out a completely different looking quilt. A good pattern to use with those large scale prints you just can't bear to cut up. This kit is assembled from Kaffe Fassett fabric, in his dramatic and bright colors. See the photo on Facebook: "Alma Sue's Quilt Shop."

The best and easiest Attic Windows pattern ever. Once you learn to cut the panel you can make anything into the windows - bear, wolf, floral print, trees, scenics, etc. Use the piece as a center, add a few borders and turn into a twin or full size quilt - or even a twin size. Great for those guys who don't favor flowers and pinks.

Once you learn to make a Mondo bag you'll be making them for everyone. Mondo comes in 3 sizes, large, midi, and bitty. We will teach the technique on the Midi bag so it can be completed in two session. So many uses for this bag, much softer and lighter than backpacks for children (haul stuff to ballet class, gymnastics class, sleepovers, to grandma's house, etc). Great as carryon bags when traveling, take projects to quilt class (the big one will hold a quilt!), "green" shopping bags. Add a pocket inside for your phone, attach a key fob for your keys, etc. endless uses!
PRIVATE CLASSES always available. With Faye as a guide you can get started in general sewing, beginning quilting, t-shirt quilts, memory quilts, free motion quilting, etc. Time arranged around your schedule. Call 941-330-0993 to inquire. We limit our class size to 4 students in order to make sure you will get the time and attention needed to finish your project.
Current HOT PICK is Christmas Fabric at 50% off, panels $3 and $5.

15th Anniversary CLEARANCE Event and SCRAP Sale
Our storage bins are stuffed. We are doing a MAJOR cleanout! Lots of items are going out the door as we do a major overhaul and shift in business to meet the customer needs of a shift in buying patterns.
Finished goods 50-70%, including most of our finished products, baby quilts, placemats, table runners, and much more. Clearing out all yarn, stencils, lots of threads, embroidery pieces and floss, excess fabric racks, binding strips, and who knows what else we will find as we do a major cleanout for 2017 and new beginnings!
NEW SCRAPS put out daily.
Prints = $2/pound
Muslin, backgrounds = $1/pound
Bags of batting = $3 a garbage bag
So what can you do with bags of batting? Table runners, hot pads, put 2 strips together for small quilts or wall hangings. Use as stuffing. Best dust rag ever, dust magnetically clings to the batting. Mary and Fanni took several pieces of batting, sewed them together and made new Swiffer refills. Magic! Maybe we need a class on making Swiffer refills!
Fab scraps are great for string quilts, log cabin quilts, Mondo bags, locker hooking, English paper piecing, crochet rugs, miniature quilts, etc. Possibilities limited only by your imagination!
Okay, holidays are over, last custom piece was picked up Thursday before Christmas. Inventory is done. Had a nice Christmas buffet at the Sand Dollar overlooking the Gulf. No cooking, No Dishes,No cleanup, No leftovers! In the meantime boxes of fabric arrived but we kept them closed so as not to get into inventory. But we peeked.
Northcott: Across the Universe. A full-size astronaut panel measuring 2 1/2 yards. Perfect for a youth or twin size bed. I enlarged a head shot of my grand nephew and transferred it to fabric so his photo will appear in the helmet of the panel. There is a pattern to make kits, or simply take one of the coordinating stars or planet prints, add a few borders and you're done!
Henry Glass: Several panels of ABCs and Numbers to make soft books. Or take the squares, add sashing and borders and turn into a small quilt.
Benartex: More sand dollars and starfish, into the Florida wall. Nice array of pastel batiks, "Lullaby batiks"
Making Waves: Pattern being turned into kits. Sand, fish, water, and beach balls. You can either sew it, or use raw edge applique and fusibles to assemble the quilt, about 42x65 inches.
Exclusively Quilters: Beautiful Briny Sea; a collection featuring Mermaids, bubbles, and a panel to make a Mermaid Doll, all going into the Florida wall.
New batch of dimples and batiks from Andover, Batik Textiles, Anthology, and Benartex.
New black and white prints to refresh the B/W section.
My grand nephew Henry James just turned 5 and is in pre-K in Virginia. In November on election day the teacher described the attributes needed to be President; the person should be kind, smart, good with people, patient, listen to others, make good decisions.... So she asked each child who would make a good president and wrote their answer on the flip board. Two children said "God," another said "Adam," one said "Fred my father's friend," Henry said "Me!" So of course Auntie found a t-shirt lettered "Future President" and shipped it off to Henry. His big sister MaryKate got a t-shirt that said "I'm not bossy, I just have leadership skills!"
Some folks wish you happiness, others wish you wealth. But I wish you best of all, Contentment blessed with Health!
Happy New Year
